SYPC and SYDC with West End Gospel Choir at WEST END LIVE

Last Saturday (16th June) I performed with Spirit Young Performers Company alongside some amazing singers from the West End Gospal Choir at West End Live and it was absolutely amazing!!! We all put in so much effort and in the end we smashed it !! We started off by auditioning over a weekend where we learnt a segment from the song “this is me” and had to perform it in duos in front of the choreographer (Daniel). Him and Sophie Boyce (owner of spirit) then chose 10 people (including myself) who would eventually perform at WEL Later that week we rehearsed 4 days in a row with each rehearsal lasting for up to 7 hours. We then took a few more rehearsals the following weekend before going to the sound check the night before. At the sound check we were lined up along side some amazing artists and west end shows (which was awesome) before being taken onto stage to run our number. The next day arrived and after rehearsing for 4 hours we were rushed into hair, makeup and costume before being taken to West End Live. Backstage we were all so nervous but by the time we got onto stage and saw the humongous crowd of over 10,000 our adrenaline kicked in and we absolutely smashed it. Overall it was an amazing experience that I’m so grateful to have experienced and I wish I could go back and relive that moment !!!!!!!
