CAITLIN GARCIA
MUSICAL THEATRE AMBASSADOR
I have been training in musical theatre since I was six years old. At age nine, I started dance training too. At age 10 I was given my first lead role as ‘Thumbelina’. Then a few months after, I auditioned for the new West End Musical ‘Gypsy’; with Imelda Staunton. I got offered the role of ‘Flower Girl / Cover Baby Louise’, which of course I accepted. I completed the full nine month run at the Savoy. Working with Imelda Staunton and Peter Davidson was incredible. In 2016, I performed at West End Live in Trafalgar Square with my MT Company; Spirit Young Performers Company. I had a character role which involved acting, singing and dancing. Later in 2016 I took on the title role of ‘Pollyanna’, which was part of the Page2Stage season by Katy Lipson of Aria Entertainment. In September 2017 I joined The Brit School at Year 10 on the Musical Theatre Strand. In conclusion, I am an extremely dedicated and hard – working young performer, with my 20 hours of training a week to prove it. I take part in all dance styles, from hip hop to ballet to contemporary, alongside solo singing lessons and ensemble singing lessons. I also have group drama lessons a few times a week which I really enjoy.

A few months after that I was accepted at a performing arts school near Manchester with a bursary and then two years after was accepted at Sylvia Young Theatre School.Since then I have appeared on Strictly Come Dancing (as Billy Elliot), We Bare Bears on Cartoon Network, and a music Video for Tom James. As well as performing on the Move It Main stage 2018, West End live, Sunday Night at the Palladium and at the My Fair Lady 60th Anniversary. I have also modelled and represented Move Dancewear, Squad Dancewear, UK Models, Inferno Dance Equipment and Spirit Young Dance a Company (Uniform). MARIAH PAYNE
DANCE AMBASSADOR
Hi my name is Mariah and I was one of the first ambassadors for dance aware. I started dancing in 2010 (aged 9) doing a weeks workshop with same difference. I wasn’t going to do it at first as it was almost £200 pound for the week course but I was offered a scholarship from Sarah and Sean. The workshops would run every February and October half term and I did them every year for about 3-4 years. They then stopped doing them so I was only doing dance in school. I randomly had a phone call from Sarah in 2016 saying she was opening a dance school and there would be a ‘pop academy’ class every Friday night. I was so excited. The dance school now has expanded massively. It started with 20 students and now has a massive 300+ students from babies to some adults being 50+. I am privileged to be given the opportunity to teach some of these students each week. As of January 2019 I will be starting my training to become a qualified teacher and I can not wait. So to conclude I have been singing/dancing for 9 years and I wouldn’t change those 9 years for anything
